Andrew Metro Jr., 71, of Continental Two, Pa., died on Saturday, June 29, 2002, at home with his loving family at his side. He was born on October 13, 1930, in Marguerite, Pa., a son of Andrew Metro Sr. and Mary Frisky Metro.

Mr. Metro was a member of St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Uniontown, was a graduate of the former Georges Township High School Class of 1950, and served his country during the Korean War with the United States Army from 1952 to 1954.

At an early age he began farming and after many years of hard work and dedication started his own business in 1942, the Metro Dairy Farm of Walnut Hill, Pa.

He was a member of the Dairy Farmers of America, the Pennsylvania Farmers Union, Pennsylvania Farmers Association, and Genex Cooperative Inc.

His parents and a brother, Regis Metro, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 40 years, Sadie (Zinn) Metro; three children: Regina Ann Metro of Continental Two, Pa., David A. Metro and Mary E. Metro both at home; and a granddaughter, Christa Angelo.

Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 139 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa., this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday, July 2, until 10:30 a.m. when a Panachida Service will be held.

Divine Liturgy follows at 11 a.m. in St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, East Main Street, Uniontown, with Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Wesdock as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. John’s Byzantine Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa., where Military Honors will be accorded by General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood, Pa.

Parastas Service will be held on Monday at 7 p.m.
