Smoke in a structure South Union Volunteer Fire Department and American EMS were dispatched to Matthew Drive for reported smoke in a structure at 9:57 p.m. Thursday, according to the Fayette County 911 Center.

Bicycles taken

Two 20-inch boys bicycles were taken from a front porch in Tuskegee Terrace sometime Thursday, state police said.

The bikes are both Next makes. One is a blue Voltage model and the other is a maroon Wipeout model. The owner is Amy Alyson Patrick, 32, of Uniontown.

Robbery

Various items were taken from two sheds and a home on Kanawha Street at 9:10 p.m. Thursday, state police said.

A tractor and mower were taken from a locked shed behind Unit 14. A mower and weed cutter were taken from a locked shed behind Unit 10. Also, two handguns and some jewelry were taken from a home at Unit 8.

The owners are Michael Ray Tanner, 29, of Fairchance, JoAnn Tanner, 50, of Fairchance and Vincent Frangipani, 60, of Uniontown.

Stolen vehicle wrecked

A vehicle stolen from Bull Run Road in Brownsville was discovered wrecked into a utility pole, state police at Belle Vernon said.

The vehicle was taken from the driveway of Lynn Dee Petko and then crashed into a West Penn power pole on Town Country Road between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 5:35 a.m. Thursday.

The vehicle was then abandoned. The Smock and Flatwoods volunteer fire departments assisted police.

Man trespasses

State police at Belle Vernon are investigating an incident in which an unknown man went to a home on Bull Run Road and attempted to gain entry at 1:15 a.m. Thursday.

The man fled the scene after being confronted by resident Sarah Patrick, 52. Police said the man was observed at the rear door on the porch. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood down and his face was covered with a light colored stocking, police said.

Telephone pole struck

No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident on Route 51 southbound at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, state police at Belle Vernon said.

A vehicle driven by Bradley Blose, 21, of Tarentum was traveling south on Route 51 when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a telephone pole. The vehicle was towed.
