Driver stopped
State police said charges of driving under the influence are pending blood-alcohol results of a Scottdale man they stopped for speeding Thursday at 1:15 a.m. along Route 119.

House burns
No one was injured when fire damaged the two-story, Raymond Road home of Larry and Diann Scott around 7:15 p.m. Friday.
North Union Volunteer Fire Department Chief Aaron Coleman said the house sustained serious damage and no one was home when the blaze broke out. He said the origin of the fire was unknown and the state police fire marshal was called in to investigate.
Coleman said firefighters fought the blaze without problems and the damage was contained to the house. Firefighters from West Leisenring, Dunbar, Hopwood and Farmington assisted North Union. Uniontown EMS and Fayette EMS also responded to the scene.

Fire investigated
State police are investigating a fire that caused $60,000 in damage to a Lemon Wood Acres apartment occupied by Jennifer Minerd-Pryce, 21, Friday around 3:30 p.m.
Police said they do not know what caused the fire, which started in a hallway near the kitchen. No one was injured. North Union, Hopwood and West Leisenring volunteer fire departments responded to the scene.

Ladder stolen
State police said someone took a 40-foot extension ladder that is splattered with bright yellow paint between 8:30 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday from the 147 Leckrone Road residence of Theodore Russell Minerd, 39.

Bike stolen, recovered
Guy German of Coal Center told state police someone took his 1993 mountain bike from in front of a bar in Coal Center between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. Thursday, but he found it abandoned several streets away on Friday.

State police said two bicycles were found in the Hopwood area Friday around 4 p.m. The owner may call the state police station in Uniontown at 724-439-7111 to claim them.

Hit-and-run reported
State police said someone in a 1987 Ford Taurus station wagon struck a mailbox along Route 201, wrecked the vehicle into a ditch and fled at 9:24 p.m. Wednesday.

Kristy Saluga of 67 Lemon St. told city police that her boyfriend was harassing her at her home at 2:25 p.m. Friday.

Joyce Mounayar of 189 Oakland Ave. told city police that someone known to her was throwing rocks at her house at 9:45 p.m. Friday. Police said the house was not damaged.

Kevin Locke of Uniontown told city police that someone stole his 1994 Volkswagen at 9:10 p.m. Friday from a parking lot on West Main Street.

Tammy Jean Swift of 161 Lincoln St. told city police that someone stole plastic eggs off a decorated tree in her front yard and then threw eggs at her back door at 7 p.m. Friday.

Trisha Mitchell of 56 S. Gordon St. told city police that someone stole a yellow, 20-inch X-Games boys bike, valued at $400, from her home sometime Friday.

Vehicle recovered
William Flenniken of the Fayette County Housing Authority reported an abandoned vehicle in the rear of 107 Coolspring St. to city police Friday. Police said they notified the Ohio State Police, who reported the vehicle stolen months ago.

City police will cite several Uniontown juveniles for harassing the son of Donald Lynch Sr. of North Gallatin Avenue at 4:26 p.m. Friday.

City police cited Stephanie Kiss of Uniontown with public drunkenness and Cynthia Weimer of Uniontown with disorderly conduct at 41 Varndell St. at 11:56 p.m. Friday.

Citations issued
City police said Charles Hixon Jr. of Hogsett Lane was cited for public drunkenness at 1:57 a.m. Saturday after officers allegedly found him trying to leave a North Gallatin Avenue business in a car that did not belong to him.
In an unrelated case, police cited Clarence Taylor of Uniontown for public drunkenness at 1:57 a.m. Saturday after he went to the police station and asked to be placed in a holding cell for the night. Police said Taylor was at the station earlier and released to his son.
Also, police cited Roy Thorpe of 154 N. Gallatin Ave. for public drunkenness after they allegedly found him passed out on a wall on North Gallatin Avenue at 2:51 a.m. Saturday.

Man assaulted
Samuel Jordon of Lincoln Street told city police that a group of unknown men assaulted him on North Gallatin Avenue at 2:47 a.m. Saturday.
Police said Jordon suffered lacerations to his head and was treated at Uniontown Hospital.

Three hurt in crash
Driver Christine Shaw of Allison and passengers Rose Mirchany and Patricia Calgan, both of Uniontown, suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Route 40 at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, according to state police.

Horses hit
One horse was killed immediately and another was put down after being struck by a vehicle on Route 281 at 10:50 p.m. Friday.
According to police, Jonathan Maust of Gibbon Glade was unable to stop when he came upon the two horses walking in the middle of the roadway. Maust suffered minor injuries, while passenger Joshua Fazenbaker of Farmington was not injured, according to police.

State police said someone set fire to a vehicle owned by Karey David of Martin along Route 119, just south of Route 857, at 3:45 a.m. Friday.

Windshield damaged
Jesse Lee Kenney, 20, of Hopwood told state police that someone damaged the windshield of her 1996 GMC Jimmy with a beer bottle at a Route 40 business at 11:55 p.m. Friday.

Mark Franks, 49, of Uniontown told state police that someone threw a rock through a window at Shaffer’s Corner at 1:20 p.m. Saturday.

Items stolen
Alan Indof, 42, of Mason Road, Mill Run, told state police that someone stole a compact disc player, compact discs and money from his van in the Laurel Mall parking lot at 3:15 p.m. Saturday. Indof told police he saw a white woman in her 40s walking away from his van with a compact disc case and player in hand.

Sherrie Chisler, 26, of Uniontown told state police that someone damaged the driver’s door of her Ford Taurus while it was parked along Fourth Street at 2:15 a.m. Sunday.

Man injured
Sean Pavone of Martin suffered minor injuries in a two-car collision along a legislative route at 8:33 a.m. Friday, state police said. His passengers, Joshua Tressler of Adah, Chase Jordan of Fairchance and Matthew Reese of Smithfield, were not injured.
According to police, the other driver, Janet Sessler of Uniontown, was not injured.

Tools found
State police discovered numerous tools, hardware and garage items near a Dumpster at Commercial Tire along Route 40 at 11:50 a.m. Saturday.
The owner may claim the items by contacting the Uniontown barracks.

Drivers injured
Julie R. Martin of Dunbar and Richard H. Yauger of Lemont Furnace suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash along a legislative route at 2 p.m. Saturday, state police said.
Two children in Martin’s vehicle were not hurt.
North Union VFD responded to the accident, police said.

Charges pending
State police at Belle Vernon said a 26-year-old Whitsett man was discovered urinating along a legislative route while highly intoxicated at 2:40 a.m. Saturday.

Two escape injury
Pamela L. Barnhart, 46, and her passenger, John W. Barnhart, 48, both of Uniontown, were not hurt when she struck a tree limb that had been blown onto Route 51 by gusting winds at 7:40 p.m. Saturday, state police at Belle Vernon said.

Charges filed
State police at Belle Vernon said Steven L. Hall, 50, of Dawson was cited for harassment and criminal mischief after he allegedly shoved Evelyn D. Loucks, 54, of Vanderbilt and damaged her car along Stauffer Street at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Charges were filed with District Justice Michael Rubish, police said.

Woman escapes injury
State police at Waynesburg said Amy Hamilton, 25, of Graysville was not injured after her vehicle left the roadway and rolled over one time along Route 18 at about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday.
EMS Southwest assisted police at the scene.
