Frazier school board approves new E-Tech Plan
PERRYOPOLIS – The Frazier school board approved the district’s E-Tech Plan Tuesday that will provide students will additional skills to function successfully in a rapidly changing global community. According to business manager Thomas Shetterly the plan, which is state mandated, is designed to provide all students with the academic, vocational, technology, citizenship and interpersonal knowledge they will need after graduation.
Shetterly said a committee of community business leaders, teachers, board members and school district administrators worked “very hard” on the plan to determine the needs of the district.
A survey was distributed to students, faculty and administrators, and meetings were scheduled during the year in order for the committee to review and discuss the district’s technology needs and goals.
And, according to Shetterly, the action plan over a three-year period is $801,935. Shetterly said funding sources include local bonds, $308,000; federal funds, $184,125; federal grants, $30,170; district categorical funds, $104,990; other unidentified funding, $108,800; and state grants in the amount of $65,850.
