Helen Duke Mikeo
Helen C. Duke Mikeo, 86, of Grindstone, Pa., fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born July 2, 1915, in Rowes Run, Pa., daughter of Joseph Duke and Mary Mizerak Duke.
Helen was a loving, prayerful Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother who enjoyed being at home with her Family.
She was a member of St. Hedwig’s Roman Catholic Church, Smock.
Her loving husband, Walter J. Mikeo, brothers, Lt. Paul L., Joseph, Michael, John and Andrew Duke, sister, Mary Zeock, great granddaughter, Clorissa Rosella Yozie, and her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by four children: Jerome L. Mikeo at home, Gregory M. Mikeo and wife Joan, Uniontown, Pa., Bernadette M. and husband Anthony A. Adams, Grindstone, Pa., and Theresa A. and husband Robert J. Wilk, Grindstone, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Lisa Marie and husband Edward Hudak, Bridgeport, West Virginia, Gregory J. Mikeo, Bridgeport, West Virginia, and his fiancee Lindsey Leigh Carter, Uniontown, Pa., Anthony M. Adams and wife Barbara, Smock, Pa., Mark L. Adams and wife Jessica, New Salem, Pa., Terrance R. Yozie and wife Kristen, Smock, Pa., Tara Ann and husband Frank Rudzienski, Grindstone, Pa., and Robert J. Wilk Jr., Grindstone, Pa.; three great grandchildren: Emily Laurel Hudak, Amber Marie Adams, and Frankie Louis Rudzienski IV; a sister, Sister Mary Bartholomew, V.S.C., Pittsburgh, Pa.; and brother, Stephen Duke, Merrittstown, Pa.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Thursday, May 2, at 9 a.m.
A Funeral Mass follows at 9:30 a.m. in St. Hedwig’s Roman Catholic Church, Smock, with Rev. Fr. John A. Sedlak as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
The Rosary Confraternity will recite the partner parish Rosary today at 3 p.m.
A Vigil Service will be held today at 3:30 p.m.
