Nick Drobac
Nick Drobac, 79, of Brownsville, Pa., died Sunday, April 28, 2002, in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc., Carroll Township, Washington County, Pa., after a brief illness. He was born December 8, 1922, in Clairton, Pa., a son of Steve Drobac and Mildred Radich Drobac.
Nick lived most of his life in the Fredericktown, Pa., area and was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Carmichaels R.D.1, Pa.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army who served during World War II with the rank of Private.
Nick was a Coal Miner and worked 43 years in the Vesta Five Mine of the former Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation.
He was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 762 Vestaburg and also Hanson-Cole American Legion Post 391 in Fredericktown.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, Nicky, a daughter, Carol Lee Camino, granddaughters, Marla Ann and Bridgette, and a great grandson, Sean.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann DiSanto of Palm Springs, Florida; a daughter, Stella Broadwater with whom he resided in Brownsville, Pa.; a daughter, Rita and son-in-law, Korkut Ercakar of Columbus, Ohio; a son, Pete of Uniontown, Pa.; a son-in-law, Ralph Camino of Suttersville, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Pam; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Friends were received at the FRANK BURKUS FUNERAL HOME, 26 Mill Street, Millsboro, Pa., on Tuesday, April 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Pomen Services were held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
Private Funeral Services will be held in the Funeral Home today, Wednesday, May 1, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Rodney Torbic officiating.
Interment will follow in St. George Serbian Orthodox Church Cemetery, Old Route 21, Carmichaels R.D.1, Pa., where Military Honors will be accorded by Hanson-Cole American Legion Post 391 of Fredericktown.
