Thomas Trupkovich, 85, of Uniontown, Pa., died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, in St. Anne’s Home in Greensburg. He was born Sept. 18, 1916, in Hoover, Pa., a son of the late Thomas and Catherine (Bohan) Trupkovich.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Joan J. Trupkovich on March 28, 1997; two brothers, John and Vincent Trupkovich; and a sister, Mary Coffman.

Mr. Trupkovich was a member of Saint Mary’s (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II in the First Armored Division, a member of the Knights of Columbus of Uniontown Council, 4th Degree Member Albert Gallatin Assembly, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, VFW Post 47, and the Continental Rod & Gun Club.

He worked in the coke ovens of Fayette County, and was retired from the Fayette Bank as a maintenance man.

He is survived by twin sons, the Rev .Fr. Thomas S. Trupkovich and the Rev. Fr. Joseph V. Trupkovich, both of Smithfield, Pa.; a sister, Ann Soyka of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 139 West Fayette St., Uniontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, until 10:30 a.m., when a blessing service will be held, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m., in Saint Mary’s (Nativity) R.C. Church. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, where military honors bill be accorded by V.F.W. Post 47. A Parish Wake Service will be held today at 3 p.m., in the funeral home. The Knights of Columbus will serve as Honor Guard from 7 to 8 p.m., this evening, and then will recite the Rosary at 8 p.m., in the funeral home.
