NORTH UNION VFW POST 8543 Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the post home. UNIONTOWN CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S CLUB will hold its May luncheon from noon to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Uniontown Country Club, 25 Bailey Ave., Uniontown. Theme is “Silver Celebration.’ Melodie Ellsworth of Fairchance will provide musical selections. Carol Watson from Youngstown, Ohio, is the speaker. Reservations are necessary. ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH WOMEN executive committee will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
AMERICAN LEGION UNIT 423, Masontown, Auxiliary members will hold a covered dish dinner at 6 p.m. Wednesday o honor the Americanism essay winners, eighth-grade medal award winners and Keystone Girl state citizen including parents and teachers. All members are urged to attend and bring a covered dish.
FAIRVIEW UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Laureldale Road, Grindstone, will hold a basket theme auction at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Sandy Rittenhouse Brittingham will be the auctioneer. Tickets are $3 and may be purchased at the door. Refreshments will be served.
NEARLY NEW SHOP, located in the basement of the Hopwood United Methodist Church, Hopwood, will be open from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Clothes, jewelry and miscellaneous items will be for sale.
JO KRIZ CIRCLE of the Asbury United Methodist Church, will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Review of reading list books, “Between the Bookends,’ will be held. A luncheon at the Sun Porch will follow.
ST. GEORGE MARONITE CATHOLIC CHURCH, Lebanon Terrace, Uniontown, will hold its annual parish mother and daughter dinner at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the church social hall. There is no charge. All women of the parish are invited. The Rev. Joseph R. David, pastor, will host the event. All attending will receive a memento of the occasion.
