Charles G. Plevelich
Charles G. Plevelich, 77, of Uniontown, Pa., died Thursday, May 2, 2002, in H. J. Heinz III Progressive Care Center. He was born December 14, 1924, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of the late George C. Plevelich and Mary Sapic Plevelich.
Also preceding him in death was his wife, Rella Kathryn Swauger Plevelich, three brothers, Paul Steven and Frank Plevelich, and three sisters, Mary “Toots” Russell, Anna Plevelich, and Helen Plevelich.
He was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church and also a member of V.F.W. Post 47 and American Legion Post 51 all in Uniontown, General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood, Pa., and Fairchance Fire Hall.
Charles was a self-employed carpenter, and served in the United States Army in the European Theatre of Operations during World War II at the Battle of Normandy.
He is survived by two daughters: Mary Jean “Jeanie” Schupp and husband, Larry, of Uniontown, Pa., and Helen Marie and husband, David “Red” Davis, of Uniontown, Pa.; one grandson, Christopher Jason Davis; two brothers: John Plevelich of Euclid, Ohio, and Tom Plevelich of Phoenix, Arizona; one sister, Fran “Babe” Plevelich of Cleveland, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where Friends will be received today from Noon to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A blessing service will be held, in the funeral home, today at 10 a.m. with Father Damien Murkley, O.F.M., officiating.
Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by V.F.W. Post 47, Uniontown.
