Grants announced
HARRISBURG – State Senator Richard A. Kasunic announced Tuesday that $180,000 in state grants have been awarded for various water projects in Fayette County. The grants are being administered by the state Department of Environmental protection.
“This state funding will help our communities improve the quality and dependability of their water systems,” Kasunic said. “I am pleased to have played a role in bringing this state funding to Fayette County for local use.”
To date Kasunic has obtained nearly $1 million in state funds for water and sewer projects in his district.
The newest round of grant funding includes:
– $20,000 to Dunbar Township to install a wastewater collection, conveyance, pumping and treatment service for the Leisenring-Rogerstown, Trotter and Adelaide-Crossland areas.
– $20,000 to Franklin Township to extend the waterline onto Morris Hollow Road.
– $20,000 to Georges Township to extend public wastewater collection lines to 14 homes and convey sewage to Fairchance Borough for treatment.
– $20,000 to German Township to extend a waterline to serve approximately 35 people.
– $20,000 to Jefferson Township to extend a waterline onto Laureldale Road.
– $20,000 to Menallen Township to install a wastewater collection system to serve 163 households in the Jennings Run area.
– $20,000 to North Union Township to extend water service on Gilberti Road.
– $20,000 to Redstone Township to extend and replace waterlines on Tippiecanoe Road.
– $20,000 to Washington Township to replace a waterline at Delmont and Second Streets in Lynwood.
