William ” Bill” W. Pashko
William “Bill” W. Pashko, 84, of Lorain, Ohio, formerly of Dunbar, Pa., died on Monday, May 6, 2002, at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center-West, Ohio, following a lengthy illness. He was born on June 1, 1917, in Dunbar, Pa. He moved to Lorain, Ohio, in 1948. Bill served in the United States Army as a Private First Class in World War II, in Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe and The Ardennes. He was awarded The American Defense Service Medal, American Theater Service Medal, EAME Theater Service Medal with four Bronze Stars, and the Victory Medal.
He worked as a scarfer at Lorain Works for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of United Steel Workers’ Union Local 1104, and enjoyed golfing as well as boating.
He is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Dorothy (Dobish) Pashko; a daughter, Sharon Pashko of Lorain, Ohio; and sisters, Mildred Kret of Cleveland, Ohio, and Blanche Kollar of Uniontown.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Anna (Pasierb) Pashko; five brothers, Walter, Stanley, Steve, Michael and Joseph; and one sister, Mary Squirek.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 139 West Fayette St., Uniontown, on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday until 10:30 a.m., when a blessing service will be held, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m., in Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church of Uniontown. Interment will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, Uniontown, where full military rites will be accorded by the AMVETS Post No. 103 of Hopwood.
