Edward J. Thomas
Edward J. Thomas, 74, of North Canton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2002, in Laurels Nursing Home, Massillon, Ohio. He was born February 16, 1928, in New Salem, Pa., son of Valentine J. (V. J.) and Antoinette Thomas.
Edward was a member of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in North Canton, Ohio, Veteran of the United States Navy, graduate of Perdue University, retired Electrical Engineer from Goodyear Aerospace Industry in Akron, Ohio, and a member of the United States Trotting Association.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor Babcheck Thomas, brothers, Albert, John and William Thomas, and sisters, Dolores Nahoun and Discella Croci.
He is survived by two sons: Edward G Thomas and Mark J. Thomas both of North Canton, Ohio; two granddaughters: Lauren Marie Thomas and Brianna Lynne Thomas; two sisters: Millicent Thomas and Katherine Coburn both of Arlington, Virginia; and a brother, Bernard Thomas of Newboro, Pa.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, Pa., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 13, at 10 a.m. in St. Procopius Roman Catholic Church, New Salem, Pa.
Interment will follow in Saint Thomas Church Cemetery, Footedale, Pa.
Parish Wake Service will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
