Louise H. Carroll Hone, 81, of East Riverside, Pa., and formerly of Tower Hill One, Pa., died peacefully in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, with her daughters at her bedside. She was born September 27, 1920, in Tower Hill One, Pa., daughter of Robert Ivan Carroll and Freeda Hess Carroll.

Louise was a graduate of the Redstone High School, Class of 1938, and an active member of the Class Reunion Committee.

She began a career as a Cafeteria Cook in 1956 and retired in 1984 as Cafeteria Manager of the Brownsville Area School District.

She was a member of Dunlap Creek Presbyterian Church and the Women’s Association of the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry “Red” Hone, three sisters, Jeanne Carroll, Ruth Roberts, Verda Mae Mincer, and her parents.

She is survived by two daughters: Saundra Phillips and her husband, Charles, of Parkton, Md., and Linda Snyder and her husband, William, of East Millsboro, Pa.,with whom she made her home; grandchildren: Stacy Weber and her husband, Eric, of Westminster, Md., Charles Phillips of Parkville, Md., Sean Phillips and his wife, Rita, of Cockeysville, Md., Jennifer Milne and her husband, Richard, of Merrittstown, Kristen Snyder and her fianc?e, Ryan Hunt, of California, Pa., and Brandi Snyder of East Millsboro; a great-grandson, Tyler Milne; a sister, Doris Haley and her husband, George, of Buffalo, New York; two brothers-in-law: William Roberts of Arlington, Va., and Hilbourne Mincer of Rialto, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

Louise was a devoted mother and grandmother, and a true friend to many!

Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, Pa., today until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. David R. Clark officiating.

Interment follows in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Women’s Association of Dunlap Creek Presbyterian Church.

Visitation was also held Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m.
