Mary Louise Riley
Mary Louise Yeardie Riley, 62, of Tower Hill One, Pa., went home to the Lord on Tuesday, May 7, 2002, following a long battle with a lengthy illness. Her loving family was at her side as she was called home. She was born November 11, 1939, in Brownsville, Pa., daughter of Marie Voorp Yeardie of Brownsville, Pa., and the late James Yeardie.
On June 22, 1960, she married Richard Riley, with whom she enjoyed nearly 42 wonderful years.
Mary Louise was employed with the Brownsville Area School District as a Cook since 1982 and retired in 2001.
Her greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren! She was an avid bingo player.
She was a member of The Historic Church of St. Peter in Brownsville, Pa.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Ada Riley, and brothers-in-law, Jack Lawver and Alex McCann.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Richard; daughters: Mary Anne and husband, John Marshall, of East Millsboro, Pa., and Tammy Riley of Tower Hill One; a son, Richard Riley Jr. of Tower Hill One; grandchildren: Christina, Marshall, John Marshall Jr., Areille Marshall and Alexis Riley; sisters and brother: Elizabeth Lawver of Brownsville, Pa., Samuel Yeardie and wife, Melody, of Brownsville, Patricia McCann of Brownsville who spent every day at her side, and JoAnn Bakewell of Brownsville who made her home with Mary Louise to care for her during the late stages of her illness; and several nieces and nephews all of whom loved their “Aunt Wease” dearly.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Saturday, May 11, at 9 a.m.
A Funeral Mass follows at 9:30 a.m. in The Historic Church of St. Peter in Brownsville with Rev. Fr. Vincent Gigliotti as Celebrant.
Entombment will follow in Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, LaFayette Memorial Park.
Visitation was also held Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
