Joseph W. Petratus

Joseph W. Petratus, 79, of Rices Landing, Pa., a Veteran of the United States Army who retired in 1962 with 22 years of service, served during World War II, saw action in North Africa, the Anzio Landing in Italy, and also Germany, and was born in Puritan, Fayette County, Pa., died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at 3:45 p.m. in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, Pa. On January 28, 1967, he married Dolores Basile Morrell Petratus, who survives.

Also surviving are three children: Anthony Morrell of Morningside, California, Kathleen Rice of Clarksville, Pa., and Judy Phillips of Rices Landing, Pa.; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sisters: Dolores Petratus Kundrick of Carmichaels, Pa., and Joyce Petratus Warsack of Horntown, Maryland.

The Family will receive Friends in the Paul Michael Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Pa., today from 2 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, May 15, until 11 a.m.
