Seat program set Car show scheduled

The Uniontown Business District Authority and Street Cruisers Unlimited are holding a National Road Festival Car Show on Saturday.

The show will be held in Uniontown from noon to 4 p.m. on Beeson Avenue from Main Street to Penn Street and Peters Street from Morgantown Street to Gallatin Avenue. These streets will be closed to traffic at 9 a.m. that morning.

Jim Wilson, founder of Street Cruisers Unlimited, estimates that a minimum of 150 cars representing regional car clubs and independent car owners will be on display in Uniontown.

“Our club doesn’t discriminate on the year of show participants,’ said Wilson. “In our club, we have cars from 1936 to 2001.”

In addition to the variety of cars, children’s activities, food vendors and Sean Gallagher, a disc jockey, will add to the festive atmosphere.

Mark Rafail, chair of the DBDA’s board of directors, said he’s pleased with the support of the downtown Uniontown business community.

“The authority would like to thank all of the businesses and individuals that helped sponsor the event by contributing to the Chinese Auction, raffle, and door prizes,’ said Rafail.

The event is free to the public and the first 50 car show participants. A $1 admission fee will be charged to the remaining car show participants. The proceeds will benefit the Uniontown Business District Authority. For more car show information, contact Wilson at 724-569-0665.
