Isaac T. Holmes

Isaac T. Holmes, 81, of Edenborn, Pa., died Friday, May 10, 2002, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, Pa. He was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Homerville, Ga., a son of the late Royal Holmes and Ida McQueen Holmes.

He was a graduate of German Township High School, a coal miner until retirement, and a longtime member of Mallory Chapel A.M.E., Church of Edenborn, Pa.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ida Lee, Doretha and Laura.

Those who remain to cherish his loving memory are three brothers, Royal Gary (Dora) Holmes of Dayton, Ohio, Oliver Major (Marilyn) Holmes of St. Louis, Mo., and Robert Merrill (Mary) Holmes of Spring Valley, Calif.; three sisters, Rosalie Tabytha Holmes-Bell of St. Louis, Mo., and Alice Elizabeth (Charles) Holmes-Huddleston and Maggie Geneva (Edward) Jackson, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; many cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives, and a host of loyal and devoted friends, especially his caretaker, Mrs. Marsha and Mike Rucker, who took care of him on a daily basis for several years. These and others share the void of his homegoing.

Friends will be received in the Signal Light Full Gospel Church, Edenborn, Pa., on Friday, May 17, 2002, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. George W. Cooper officiating. Interment will be in Edenborn Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main St., Uniontown, Pa.
