Beatrice Rebecca McKnight Newhouse, 85, formerly of Grindstone, Pa., who has lived in Waynesburg, Pa., since 1991, died Saturday, May 18, 2002, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg. She was born February 7, 1917, in Brownsville, Pa., daughter of Thomas McKnight and Margaret McCune McKnight.

She graduated in 1935 from Redstone High School and was a member of First Church of The Nazarene, Waynesburg.

On May 25, 1937, she married Roy James Newhouse. He died November 24, 1998.

Also deceased are two brothers, Thomas McKnight Jr. and David McKnight, one sister, Mary McKnight Kinsell, and her parents.

Surviving are one daughter, Janet L. Smith of Waynesburg; three grandchildren: Derek Smith, Robin King, and Jenny Huffman; and seven great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the BEHM FUNERAL HOME INC., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, Pa., on Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. where Services will be held Tuesday, May 21, at 11 a.m. with Rev. John M. Poling officiating.

Interment follows in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
