In southwestern Pennsylvania, Fort Necessity National Battlefield in Farmington commemorates the soldiers of three cultures who marched, fought and died in the beginning campaigns of the French and Indian War.

The moment of silence also will be observed at Friendship Hill National Historic Site in Springhill Township.
