Theodore W. Matthews
lemont furnace Theodore “Ted” W. Matthews, 44, of Lemont Furnace, Pa., died unexpectedly Thursday, May 15, 2002, at home.
He was born September 24, 1957, in Connellsville, Pa., son of Charles T. Matthews and Wanda L. Hutchinson Matthews.
He was a Massage Therapist.
Ted was a member of Cove Run Free Methodist Church and also attended Calvary Assembly of God in Connellsville.
He graduated from Laurel Highlands High School, Class of 1975, the University of Pittsburgh in 1979, and also attended Chiropractic School.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Cindy Matthews; a daughter, Sarah Rose Matthews, whom he dearly loved and adored; a brother, Timothy L. Matthews and wife, Lori of Mount Braddock, Pa.; his maternal grandmother, Eva Hutchinson of Lemont Furnace; nephews: Chad Matthews and Daniel Matthews of Mount Braddock; nieces: Tiffany and Danielle Crum of Lemont Furnace and Marissa and Molly Matthews of Dunbar, Pa.; and several aunts and uncles.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandfather, Stanley M. Hutchinson, his paternal grandparents, Walter Matthews Sr. and Mary Matthews McNutt, and step-grandfather, Fred McNutt.
Visitation was held in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, Pa., on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, May 18, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Visitation continues in Cove Run Free Methodist Church today, Sunday, May 19, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Services will begin at 1:30 with Pastor Roger Yeager and Pastor Charles King officiating.
Interment follows in Cove Run Cemetery.
