Evelyn Dwyer Hanna Geissinger
Evelyn Dwyer Hanna Geissinger, 89, of Uniontown, Pa., died Sunday, May 19, 2002, in Mount Macrina Manor. She was born November 24, 1912, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Jeremiah Dwyer and Agnes Laughlin Dwyer.
Evelyn was a member of St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown and The Jefferson Club.
She enjoyed volunteering at both the Uniontown Hospital and St. John’s Roman Catholic School, and was an avid bridge player.
She was the former owner of The Bride Shop in both Uniontown and Morgantown, West Virginia, and worked for the United States Government in the Pacific Theatre of Operation during World War II.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Hanna in 1969, and her second husband, George Geissinger in 1987, two brothers, Paul and Ralph Dwyer, four sisters, Geraldine Dwyer, Marian McGrath, Dorothy Durcan, and Regene Dwyer, and her parents.
Surviving are two sons: Shawn Hanna and his wife, Jan, of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and Dennis Hanna and his wife, Debi, of Uniontown, Pa.; two daughters: Mary Reuter and her husband, Ted, of Orange, Virginia, and Regene “Gigi” Patrignani and her husband, David, of Uniontown; eight grandchildren: Robert Reuter, Stephanie Gettys, John Reuter, Alex Reuter, Jennifer Reuter, Ashleigh Reuter, Christopher Hanna and Madison Hanna; six great grandchildren; and several dear friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, May 21, until 9:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 50 Jefferson Street, Uniontown, with Rev. Fr. William J. Kiel as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
