Man charged

Allen E. Coburn, 23, of East Millsboro was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and stalking, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and 11 summary traffic violations after an incident at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, state police at Washington said.

According to police, Coburn drove behind a car operated by Bruce Gaito of Washington and tried to strike the rear of Gaito’s car. Police said Coburn passed Gaito’s vehicle on Route 18 and allegedly began to turn his vehicle across both lanes, blocking the roadway.

Police said Gaito tried to drive on the soft shoulder to avoid striking Coburn’s car, but Coburn allegedly placed his vehicle in reverse, causing the vehicles to collide, before he fled the scene.

While Gaito suffered a fractured leg, police said no injuries were reported from the passengers in the car: Penny Mikels, 30, of Washington and three children age 13, 10 and 3.

Woman harassed

Kelly Kirkendall of Mount Morris told state police that a Morgantown, W.Va., woman shoved her at 137 Bald Hill Road at 5:58 p.m. Thursday.

Greensboro

Door damaged

Charles Wolfe of Greensboro told state police that a Dilliner man damaged the handle of his sliding glass door at 11:40 a.m. Thursday.

Vehicles collide

State police said no one was injured when vehicles operated by Jamie Scott of Canonsburg and Judy Victor of Waynesburg collided in the Hardee’s parking lot at 12:14 a.m. Saturday.

Jefferson

Three hurt in crash

Rose Lohr, 49, of Carmichaels and her passengers, Perry Rowan, 37, and Kimberly Rowan, 8, both of Carmichaels, were treated at Greene County Memorial Hospital after a two-vehicle accident on Route 188 in front of the BP gas station at 2:20 p.m. May 12.

Police said the other driver was Beau Chapman, 17, of Jefferson.

Cumberland Twp.

Charges filed

State police at Waynesburg said Brian Michael Plavi of Nemacolin was stopped for speeding on Nemacolin Road and arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at 2:43 a.m. May 15.

Police said Plavi refused testing and will lose his driver’s license for one year. Charges were filed before District Justice Lee Watson.

Perry Twp.

ID stolen

Kathleen Harmon of Pursglove, W.Va., told state police at Waynesburg that someone broke into her vehicle and stole her birth certificate and Social Security card between 6 and 11 p.m. Saturday at the Mount Morris Truck Stop.

Rices Landing

Information wanted

State police at Waynesburg are looking for information on a white man who approached an elderly Rices Landing woman Aug. 17 and had her pay for roofing work that was never performed.

The man is in his 20s, stands 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and has a medium build.

Woman injured

State police said minor injuries were reported when Sue Cowell left Colonial Drive and struck a brick structure at 3 p.m. Friday.

Luzerne Twp.

Fight reported

State police filed harassment charges against Lynn Hood of Latrobe and Todd Daniels of Greensburg after an altercation at the state prison construction site at 7 a.m. Tuesday. The charges were filed at District Justice Herbert Mitchell Jr.’s office.

Police investigate

Employees at Giant Eagle on Sugar Run Road told state police that a 6-foot-1-inch, 250-pound man with short brown hair obtained a refill pain-killer prescription using information from a 73-year-old Marianna woman’s pill bottles between May 13 and 20.

Retail theft

Someone pumped $14.01 in gasoline into a green Dodge Neo and fled the BP/BFS station on the east side of Route 188 at 8:54 p.m. Monday, state police at Waynesburg reported.

South Union Twp.

Window broken

Ronald Ricikezza of New Freeport told state police that between 5:30 and 6 a.m. Monday, the back window of his 1995 Subaru Outback was broken on South Mount Vernon Avenue.

Connellsville Twp.

Items returned

State police found two Jet Skis, reported stolen by Tammy M. Mader of Connellsville, along Buttermore Road and returned them to Mader at 12:51 a.m. Tuesday.

Purse lost

Jone Beitzel of Accident, Md., told state police that she lost her purse at Wal-Mart between 2 and 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Tires slashed

Rainbow Rentals of Canfield, Ohio, told state police that tires on one of their vehicles in their parking lot were slashed between 6 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Redstone Twp.

Woman injured

Susan M. Losko, 71, of Brownsville was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 4:38 p.m. May 5 on Route 40.

Police said the other driver, Allan W. Santi, 39, of Washington, and his passenger, Shawn D. Chadwick, 24, of Washington, were not injured.

North Union Twp.

Man suffers injuries

Walter W. Metts, 59, of Uledi suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Oliver and Semans roads at 7:40 a.m. May 11. Police said the other driver was Anne D. Seman, 80, of Oliver.

Connellsville Twp.

Drivers injured

State police said drivers Jamie Rankin and Richard Mader, both of Connellsville, were treated at Highlands Hospital after they wrecked on northbound Route 119, between East Crawford Avenue Extension and Buttermore Boulevard, May 9.

South Union Twp.

Theft reported

State police are investigating the theft of about 35 Oxycontin tablets, compact discs and a red Mini-Mag flashlight from a truck owned by Jeffrey E. Stafford, 42, of Uniontown between 8 and 9:30 a.m. May 15 along Pine Knob Road.

Springhill Twp

Charges filed

State police said harassment charges have been filed against Edward Dean Johnson, 42, of Lake Lynn and David Lee Fulmer, 23, of Point Marion after a fight at a Fancy Hill Road residence at 11:30 p.m. Monday. The charges were filed at District Justice Randy Abraham’s office.

Pool pump stolen

State police said somebody stole a Hayworth pump/filter, owned by Phillip Hunt, 36, of Connellsville, between 5:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday along Municipal Drive.

Uniontown

Stolen truck found

City police pulled over a stolen pickup truck Tuesday evening near Pershing Court and the man who was driving got out and ran. His passenger then attempted to drive away, but police pulled him over along Dunlap Street.

Police said neither man had a driver’s license, and they plan to file charges. Ellwood Davis of Grindstone, who owns the truck, told police the vehicle had been stolen and that he planned to report the theft to state police.

Uniontown

No one injured

City police said neither Sammy Antoon, 85, of Francis Street nor Michelle Faye Sumey, 26, of Coolspring Street was injured in a two-car accident at the intersection of Morgantown and West Main streets just after 10 a.m. Tuesday.
