Stella Sabarese, 92, of Smithfield, Pa., died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville, Pa. She was born Dec. 5, 1909, in Fairbank, Pa., a daughter of the late Samuel and Angeline Zembrona Sabarese.

She is survived by five sisters, Loretta Sabarese of Smithfield, Mildred Yankura of New Salem, Pa., Leona Guarello of New Jersey, Elvira Pucciarelli of New York, and Angeline Shipp of Smithfield, with whom she made her home, and who was her caregiver for the past 12 years; a brother, Victor Sabarese of Canton, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Pete, Michael and William Sabarese.

There will be no public funeral services. Private interment will take place in the family plot. Arrangements are under the direction of the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion.
