Driver sought

Uniontown police are looking for the driver of a teal colored two-door Ford Escort and his two male passengers who attempted to run over a group of Uniontown High School students who were standing at a bus stop patio Thursday at 12:06 p.m.

Det. Phillip Jones said the car entered the school grounds traveling at a high rate of speed in the wrong direction under the bus patio then drove through the grass and exited the grounds onto E. Fayette Street.

He said there was about a dozen students standing under the patio and many more in the area when the incident occurred. Fortunately, the car didn’t hit anybody and no injuries were reported.

Jones said the three people in the car are believed to be white and witnesses managed to read part of the license plate before the vehicle fled.

The incident was recorded on a school security camera, Jones noted.

Women in fight

State police in Uniontown said Virginia Kazimer, 78, of Uniontown and Rita Kazimer, 34, of Uniontown allegedly assaulted each other Wednesday along South Mount Vernon Avenue at 11 a.m.

Women cited

State police in Uniontown said Kimberly Tressler of Vanderbilt and Linda Mardelle Powell of Leisenring were cited for harassment following an argument at 310 Texas Ave. at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Car scratched

State police in Uniontown said somebody scratched the left front fender and driver’s door of a car owned by Robin L. Shaffer of Clarenden Ave. between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Purse stolen

State police in Uniontown said somebody took Margaret Brangard’s purse from her unlocked car in the Uniontown Mall parking lot late Tuesday morning.

Kicking alleged

State police in Uniontown said Mike Meyokovich, 50, of Uniontown alleged that he was kicked in the face Wednesday at 11:05 a.m. along Route 40.

Juvenile arrested

State police in Uniontown said a juvenile was arrested for assaulting Ann Marie Vargo and Margaret I. Opar, 75, both of Uniontown, along Wilbur Avenue at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Redstone Twp.

Burglary reported

State police in Uniontown said somebody damaged the door on William Holloman’s shed on Third Street in Filbert No. 2 and stole numerous tools between 7:30 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Man arrested

City police said they arrested Brian Boone, 28, of 70 Carlisle St. on an aggravated assault warrant from state police Wednesday at 3:22 p.m. when officers responded to a report of a disorderly person at the Family Abuse Council of Pennsylvania office on East South Street. Officers then turned Boone over to state police.

Uniontown

Man arrested

City police said they arrested Walter Fordyce on a warrant from the Masontown Police Department following a report of a disturbance at 94 Lenox St. at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said Fordyce was wanted in Masontown for allegedly violating a protection from abuse order.

West Pike Run Twp.

Warrant served

State police said that an arrest warrant was served Tuesday on Joan Carol Hissom, no address listed, for her alleged role in a fatal accident that occurred on Route 40 in West Pike Run Township on Oct. 6, 2001.

Hissom was charged on April 29, 2002, with accidents involving death and injury, accidents involving attended vehicle, duty to give information, immediate notice of accident, driving without a license, and false identification.

Police said Hissom’s bail was set at $50,000 unsecured bond and a hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. May 30 with District Justice Pelkey.

No details on the original accident were available at presstime.

Juvenile arrested

A female juvenile was arrested for leaving the Fashion Bug in Waynesburg wearing a new pair of shoes that hadn’t been paid for at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Cumberland Twp.

Car stolen

William Robert Willis of Jefferson told state police that between 7:30 a.m. and 8:45 p.m. Tuesday that his medium blue 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass was taken from his yard.

Police noted that the vehicle was disabled and was removed by unknown means, but that the actors fled east on Woodrings Road toward Crucible.

A battery was also removed from another vehicle, said police.

Harassment

State police responded to a physical altercation between two juveniles in the parking lot of Stiffy’s parking lot at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Window broken

Ronald Ricikezza of New Freeport told state police that between 5:30 and 6 a.m. Monday, the back window of his 1995 Subaru Outback was broken on South Mount Vernon Avenue.

Connellsville Twp.

Items returned

State police found two Jet Skis, reported stolen by Tammy M. Mader of Connellsville, along Buttermore Road and returned them to Mader at 12:51 a.m. Tuesday.

Purse lost

Jone Beitzel of Accident, Md., told state police that she lost her purse at Wal-Mart between 2 and 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Tires slashed

Rainbow Rentals of Canfield, Ohio, told state police that tires on one of their vehicles in their parking lot were slashed between 6 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Theft reported

State police are investigating the theft of about 35 Oxycontin tablets, compact discs and a red Mini-Mag flashlight from a truck owned by Jeffrey E. Stafford, 42, of Uniontown between 8 and 9:30 a.m. May 15 along Pine Knob Road.

Springhill Twp

Charges filed

State police said harassment charges have been filed against Edward Dean Johnson, 42, of Lake Lynn and David Lee Fulmer, 23, of Point Marion after a fight at a Fancy Hill Road residence at 11:30 p.m. Monday. The charges were filed at District Justice Randy Abraham’s office.

Woman injured

Susan M. Losko, 71, of Brownsville was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 4:38 p.m. May 5 on Route 40.

Police said the other driver, Allan W. Santi, 39, of Washington, and his passenger, Shawn D. Chadwick, 24, of Washington, were not injured.

North Union Twp.

Man suffers injuries

Walter W. Metts, 59, of Uledi suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Oliver and Semans roads at 7:40 a.m. May 11. Police said the other driver was Anne D. Seman, 80, of Oliver.

Connellsville Twp.

Drivers injured

State police said drivers Jamie Rankin and Richard Mader, both of Connellsville, were treated at Highlands Hospital after they wrecked on northbound Route 119 on May 9.

Pool pump stolen

State police said somebody stole a Hayworth pump/filter, owned by Phillip Hunt, 36, of Connellsville, between 5:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday along Municipal Drive.

Uniontown

Stolen truck found

City police pulled over a stolen pickup truck Tuesday evening near Pershing Court and the man who was driving got out and ran. His passenger then attempted to drive away, but police pulled him over along Dunlap Street.

Police said neither man had a driver’s license, and they plan to file charges. Ellwood Davis of Grindstone told police the vehicle had been stolen.

No one injured

City police said neither Sammy Antoon, 85, of Francis Street nor Michelle Faye Sumey, 26, of Coolspring Street was injured in a two-car accident in the city just after 10 a.m. Tuesday.

South Huntingdon Twp.

Burglary

James Hornfeck, 45, of Wyano told state police that a weed trimmer was taken from his shed between Sunday and Wednesday.

Fayette City

Car stolen

Thomas Eugene Morgan, 68, of Fayette City told state police that between 7 and 7:15 p.m. Wednesday his 1991 Lincoln Continental was taken from in front of his Second Street home.
