West Overton Museums, located between Scottdale and Mount Pleasant on Route 819, announces the beginning of its 2002 Quilt Competition, a southwestern Pennsylvania exhibition. The quilts will be on display in the museum’s Distillery from Tuesday, May 28, through Sunday, June 30.

Judged quilts from the Laurel Highlands and surrounding regions will be displayed in full view among the museums’ historical exhibits.

The “Challenge Quilt” contest is again being sponsored by Kate and Becca’s Quilt Patch.

The 2002 quilt judge was Linda McCuean.

Admission, which includes a tour of West Overton Museums, is $8 for adults and $7 for members.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.

The museum is closed on Monday.
