Uniontown Eddie’s Tavern expands
Eddie’s Tavern at 200 Francis St., Uniontown, has opened a new wing to accommodate more patrons and large parties. It offers a child friendly, no smoking and minimal noise atmosphere. The tavern is open from 3 to 11 p.m. Monday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from noon to 11 p.m. on Sunday.
It serves lunch daily and has takeouts available. Established 18 years ago, the tavern has a number of new menu items as well as many favorites with 21 flavors of award-winning wings, sandwiches, salads and dinners. Other features include a big screen TV with exclusive sporting events.

Utility ranked a leader
Allegheny Power ranked as the national leader among the top-rated gas and electric utilities in the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), an independent study of residential customers produced by the National Quality Research Center at the University of Michigan’s Business School.
In its second appearance in the ASCI study, which ranked the 28 largest investor-owned gas and electric companies in the nation on various attributes of customer satisfaction, Allegheny Power tied for first place and achieved a 1.3 percent increase in its score, compared to the 2001 survey. The national average score for energy utilities in this year’s report is 73; Allegheny Power scored 80.
“Our customers come first and we believe customer satisfaction is a defining characteristic of Allegheny Power,” said Jay S. Pifer, president of Allegheny Power.

Grant seminar scheduled
Pennsylvania businesses are invited to learn about the 2002-2003 Guaranteed Free Training Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and receive application assistance.
Up to $150,000 of funding is available per qualifying Pennsylvania company. This is an opportunity to get free grant money to strengthen a business.
The program will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. on June 13. It is presented by WEDnetPA/Community College of Beaver County and hosted by Custom Training Resources, Millcraft Center, 90 W. Chestnut St., Six Floor Conference Center, Washington, Pa. 15301.

Store holds event
Bon-Ton department stores is inviting its customers to support “Care to Share Day,” a one-day fundraising event in Bon-Ton stores on June 12 to benefit participating local school and church groups, charities and non-profit organizations. The participating organizations will benefit from “Care to Share Day” by retaining all revenue from the sale of $5 tickets for the event. The tickets offer customers discounts in every department throughout the store varying from 10 percent to 40 percent, a chance to win prizes in every store and a $1,000 Bon-Ton shopping spree, free make-up consultations, free jewelry cleaning, Godiva sampling and many other festivities.
Customers can pre-purchase tickets directly from the participating community groups prior to the event or at their Bon-Ton store on the day of the event. A list of organizations can be obtained from the Customer Service Center at the Bon-Ton store in Uniontown.
