Alice Minerd Conn
Alice Minerd Conn, 94, formerly of Woodbridge, Fayette County, Pa., died Sunday, May 26, 2002, in Country Care Manor, Fayette City, Pa. She was born September 28, 1907, in Smithfield, Pa., daughter of Charles Minerd and Perie Monteith Minerd.
Alice was a member of Smithfield United Methodist Church and a former Sunday School Teacher for many years.
She was an Elementary Teacher for many years with Georges Township schools and the Braddock School System until her retirement.
Her husband, Clarence W. Conn, sister, Virginia Minerd, two brothers, James Thomas Minerd and Charles I. “Bud” Minerd, and parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are her nephews and niece: Charles “Mike” Minerd and wife Rosemarie, her caregivers of Charleroi, Pa., Thomas “Tim” Minerd and wife Sandra, Wheaton, Maryland, Marlajean Barnhart, Amhurst, Ohio, and Harold “Butch” Conn, Fairchance, Pa.; four great nieces; one great nephew; several great-great nephews and great-great nieces; sisters-in-law: Freda Minerd, Fairchance, Pa., and Gene Minerd, Silver Spring, Maryland; and brother-in-law, Harold “Butch” Minerd, Fairchance.
The Family will receive Friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, May 30, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service.
Interment will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
