Sophia Bizik of Grindstone celebrated her 89th birthday on Monday, May 13. Bizik has made her home in Grindstone for the past 33 years and is a member of St. Cecilia R.C. Church in Grindstone. She is a homemaker and the mother of six children, including Paul Bizik Sr. of Grindstone, Joe Bizik of Pittsburgh, Honeygirl Duke of Republic, Steve Bizik of Grindstone, Joan Kapolka of Grindstone and Barbara Williams of Grindstone.

She also has 13 children and seven great-grandchildren. A party at her home marked the occasion.
