Stanley P. Miller Sr.
Stanley P. Miller Sr., age 102, of Oradell, New Jersey, and formerly of Point Marion, Pa., passed away Saturday, May 11, 2002, in Pascack Valley Hospital, Westwood, New Jersey. He was born October 25, 1899, in Point Marion, Pa., the son of Orange A. Miller and Ella Potter Miller.
Until his retirement in 1969 he owned and operated Holste-Niese Fuel Company of Jersey City, New Jersey.
Stanley was a member of Oradell Reformed Church in Oradell, New Jersey, the Free and Accepted Masons and a 32nd Degree Shriner, the Odd Fellows Lodge in Point Marion, and other organizations.
He had been a Director of the Bergen County Savings and Loan Association in Oradell, New Jersey.
He was a member of the Class of 1923 Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, where he had been active in student government and athletics.
At the time of his death he was the oldest living alumnus of his college as well as of Point Marion High School where he had served as its first Football Coach.
His first wife, Ellen Burchinal Miller, his second wife, Luciellea H. Miller, his sister, Nell Miller Thompson, an infant brother, Robert, and his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Alice F. Miller of Oradell, New Jersey; two sons: Stanley P. Miller Jr. and wife, Grace, of Uniontown, Pa., and David L. Miller and wife, Joan, of Gans, Pa.; a stepson, Robert Evans of New York City, New York; and a niece, Nancy Thompson Ewing of Norman, Oklahoma.
Also surviving are three grandsons, two granddaughters, two great grandsons, two great granddaughters, and other loving and caring family members.
His remains will be interred in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Point Marion, Pa., at which time there will be private Memorial Service at gravesite.
