Community calendar – May 30
RICES LANDING UNITED METHODIST CHURCH will hold a strawberry festival from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. Take-out orders will be available. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 8 to 12. Children under age 7 may eat free. The Haymakers will provide entertainment. MORRIS FAMILY REUNION will be held Saturday, June 15, at Cedar Creek Park, Pavilion 5, off Route 51 in Rostraver Township. Two meals will be served 1 and 5 p.m. Families are to bring a covered dish and canned food for the food basket.
BROWNFIELD UNITED METHODIST CHURCH will hold a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church parking lot. Spaces are $10 and $5 per table. A bake sale will also be held. Other food items and beverages will be available. A trash and treasure table will also be featured.
CALVARY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH will hold a church-wide yard sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the old Thereby garage, Connellsville Street, across from Bethesda. A bake sale will also be featured.
GREENE COUNTY POMONA GRANGE 63 will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday for the quarterly meeting at Dunkard Township Grange Hall, Davistown. Election of officers will be held for two-year terms. An apple pie contest will be judged following the meeting. Auction of pies will be held during the luncheon. A covered-dish luncheon will follow.
ALTAR SOCIETY of St. Therese Church, Uniontown, will receive communion at the 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday. Rosary will be recited at 9:10 a.m. Meeting will be held June 6 at 7 p.m. at the Parish Center.
ST. GEORGE MARONITE CATHOLIC CHURCH, Uniontown, Ladies Guild, will meet at 1 p.m. Sunday in the church social hall.
