Youths will share some of the stories from “Chicken Soup for the Teen-age Soul’ with the congregation as their message. The youth praise team, accompanied by Kevin Milliken, will lead the praise choruses and the Asbury Chancel Choir will provide special music. The Rev. Meanwhile, Sunday’s casual 9 a.m. worship will feature hymns and praise choruses led by Rev. Fogg, accompanied by Kevin Milliken and Rev. Fogg’s message “Jacob and the Jedi.’ Sunday school classes for all ages meet at 9:45 a.m. with summer Sunday school for children in grades kindergarten through sixth beginning with a kickoff “Hula Hula-Baloo’ party. At this time, parents are invited to join Rev. Fogg and other members of the Children’s Christian Ed Team for bagels and coffee. Asbury Youth Fellowship will not meet this week.

Every Sunday this summer, children and youths will learn in a different way in Sunday school, using WoRM (Workshop Rotation Model). Continuing through Sunday, July 14, the church will learn in unusual ways about Holy Communion. The schedule: June 2, puzzles and games; June 9, video and popcorn; June 16, cooking. For the remainder of the summer, they start all over again on another subject. This is for preschoolers through high school students every Sunday in June, July and August from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
ROSCOE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 300 Main St., begins a new summer worship schedule Sunday with a continental breakfast in the manse, hosted this week by Virginia Downes. At 9:45 a.m. worshippers will gather in the church sanctuary to begin a casual morning worship service with a time of singing. “It Just Ain’t Fair’ is the title of the sermon by the Rev. Dr. John Rankin. The service will also include special music and prayer for the nation.
The session’s communicant/confirmation class for church membership for youths ages 12 and up will begin on Sunday, June 9 with the Rev. Rankin, for a week of special concentrated classes and field trips.
ST. GEORGE SERBIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH IN CARMICHAELS worships Sunday at 10 a.m. and then holds the first picnic and outdoor religious program. Roast lamb and Serbian delicacies will be available, beginning at noon. From 1 to 2:30 p.m., a program will focus on the renewal hope of the resurrection. At 1 p.m., West Virginia University psychology doctoral candidate Nick Yackovich will speak on the theme of “Hope’ as it affects human functioning. He will focus on the hope that is present for believers in Jesus. The Rev. Rodney Torbic will speak on the theme of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. An akathist to the resurrection will conclude the program and will be held at the Cross in the St. George Cemetery. A tamburitizan orchestra will entertain, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 50 Jefferson St., Uniontown, welcomes Catholic evangelist Thomas Rutkoski for a special presentation June 4-6. Rutkoski worked as chief photojournalist at KDKA-TV before he quit that job to travel the world as a Catholic evangelist.

DIOCESE OF ALTOONA-JOHNSTOWN will sponsor the third annual Camp Zacchaeus Aug. 4-9 at Camp Sequanota in Jennerstown. The aim is to show youths how to integrate their faith into everyday lives.
