James Sementa

James “Jack” Sementa, 83, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2002, in his home, with his loving family by his side. He was born Feb. 21, 1919, in Uledi, Pa., the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Renna Sementa.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cecelia Linney Sementa on Sept. 29, 1980; a sister, Theresa Caruso; and a brother, Albert Sementa.

Jack was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, a member of the VFW Post 47, the AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood, and was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II, and serving on the ship U.S.S. Monrovia.

Surviving are his loving children: Sharon Sementa Bunyan and husband, Timothy of Uniontown, and Darla Sementa Allen and husband, Scott of Uniontown; his very special grandson who he loved and adored, Shaun Allen; brothers, Alfred Sementa and wife, Alberta of Masadonia, Ohio, and Elmer “Tarzan” Sementa and wife, Eleanor of Uniontown; several nieces and nephews; and his “loving companion”, Irene Kalasky. Jack will be sadly missed by all his friends at The Tech School and his friends of South Union Township.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME, AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVE., UNIONTOWN, PA., today until 10:30 a.m., when a blessing service will be held, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m., in St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, with the Rev. Fr. William J. Kiel as celebrant. Interment follows in Sylvan Heights Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at the graveside by AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood.
