Church hosts sale The Church of Christ, located on Route 201, Vanderbilt, is holding a church yard sale on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. No sales will take place before 9 a.m. Food and baked goods will be available. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Ceremony moved indoors

Forecasts calling for rain have moved tonight’s Connellsville Area High School commencement from Falcon Stadium to the high school gymnasium beginning at 6 p.m.

According to school officials, students should report to the cafeteria at 5 p.m.

Because of an expected overflow crowd, the commencement service will also be carried on closed circuit television in the auditorium. Armstrong Cable channel 39 will also broadcast graduation live.

Reunion meeting set

Anyone interested in helping plan this summer’s Poplar Grove School Reunion is invited to attend a meeting at Luigi’s Restaurant in the Garden Room, on Tuesday, June 4, at 6:45 p.m.

PennDOT posts schedule

Fayette County Maintenance Manager, Merle G. Bolen, today announced the following tentative work plan for the week of June 3. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas.

The bridge team will perform bridge superstructure repairs on SR 0982, Bullskin Township Fairgrounds.

The sign team will upgrade and replace old, missing or damaged signs and posts on various state routes throughout Fayette County.

Team Mill Run will pave with Lee-boy, weather permitting, on Monday, June 3, SR1062, Cranberry Road, on Tuesday, June 4, Wednesday, June 5, and Thursday, June 6, SR 1003, Cooper’s Road, and on Friday SR 1060, Shepler Road.

Team Limestone Hill will grade on SR 1041, River road.

Team main shed will perform base repairs on SR 1051, Bute Road.

Team Cloverleaf will clean inlets on SR 0201, Gillespie Hollow Road.

Team Searights will flush pipes on various routes.

Team Big Six will patch potholes on SR 3009.

Team Summit will build a park and ride on SR 0040, Summit Mountain at the westbound Hopwood Exit Ramp.
