CANAAN BAPTIST CHURCH will host Hallelujah Night today with games and food. No costumes are necessary but welcome, but no ghost, vampires or ghoulish, bloody figures. There will be prizes awarded to the winners of games as well as special gifts given out by the pastor and the congregation. This is the sixth annual Hallelujah Night and is open to the community.
CANAAN BAPTIST CHURCH OF HILLER will celebrate its annual Men and Women’s Day on Sunday. The preachers for the afternoon will be the Rev. CHRIST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Uniontown, announces the Leland Class on Sunday is broadcast on WMBS Radio at 10 a.m. Worship is at 10:45 a.m. in the sanctuary with the Rev. Kenneth E. Jones sharing a brief message before reading the names of those saints departed since November 2001.

ST. GEORGE SERBIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH IN CARMICHAELS, recently held an anniversary celebration for the anniversary of the church. The building was consecrated on Oct. 31, 1954.
Celebrated last Sunday, the Divine Liturgy featured the St. George Choir under the direction of Sonia Janson. The sermon focused on St. George Church as a canonical Orthodox Church.
The anniversary banquet was held at Dolfi’s in Masontown, a banquet facility owned by former St. George Church Executive Board President Stan Brozik and his wife, Karen. Dr. Ivko Dimitric represented the parish executive board as master of ceremonies. Speakers included the Very Rev. Lt. Col. Adam Yonitch, a former priest at St. George and current parish priest at Holy Ascension Serbian Orthodox Church in Youngwood. Janson offered remarks on behalf of the choir and Circle of Serbian Sisters. Mildred Bezjak spoke in behalf of the St. George Church School.
Nurse practitioner Mitzi Hunchuck commented on the developing parish nurse program. The Rev. Rodney Torbic spoke, and choir member Joe Katusa expressed thoughts regarding the benefits of daily religious services at the church.
The Rev. Aleksandar Tandashvili from St. Mary Orthodox Church in Masontown was present with his wife Matushka Marina and their children.
The Rev. James Bump from All Saints Roman Catholic Church in Masontown, Brother Tom Somerfield, pastoral care director at Mount St. Macrina Manor in Uniontown, and the Rev. Radoslav were also in attendance. The Rev. Rodney Torbic is pastor.
ST. HUBERT ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 9 Sadler St., Point Marion, announces the traditional three-day Forty Hours Devotion with a focus on Christ present in the Eucharist will be held Nov. 8-10.
In addition to extra Masses and opportunities for confession, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed on the main altar during the three days for private worship and adoration.
The altar-rosary/Christian Mothers will have a Holy Hour on Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. and the Holy Name Society will have its holy hour on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. The church will be open to the public. On Friday, the visiting missionary and guest homilist, the Rev. Lawrence Hoppe, a former high school principal, pastor and leader in the Legion of Mary Movement, will visit all the homebound with the sacraments. The closing service will be Sunday at 4 p.m. and included many invited priests for the Eucharistic procession and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament. ST. OLIVER PLUNKETT PAR-ISH, ST. MICHAEL ARCHANGEL CHURCH IN FREDERICKTOWN will hold a charismatic Mass on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. with the River of Life Prayer Group. The Rev. Boyle, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Finleyville, will be celebrant.

Sandbek and her husband, Dale, a certified sound engineer, work as a team and have given hundreds of concerts for all types of events and for audiences of all ages.
