Della A. Blaney

Della Alena Lynn Blaney, 91, of Smithfield, Pa., died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002, in King’s Personal Care Home. She was born June 5, 1911, in Redstone Township, Pa., daughter of the late Fred Lynn and Myrtle Chalfant Lynn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd J. “Pap” Blaney; a son, Alfred G. Blaney; a great-grandchild, Ronald Jackson; and a brother, Raymond Lynn.

Della was a member of the Springhill Furnace Presbyterian Church, White House Ladies Club and former member of the former Gallatin Grange. She and her husband, Lloyd were the owners and operators of Blaney Farm at White House for many years.

Surviving are her daughter, Doris Jean Bankhead of Smithfield, Pa., and daughter-in-law, Dolores Blaney of Baltimore, Md.; nine grandchildren, Jim Bankhead of Daytona Beach, Fla., Bob, Dan, Tom and Bill Bankhead and Sandy Plitka, all of Smithfield, David Blaney of Ellerslie, Md., Danielle Robinson of Baltimore, Md., and Barbara Jackson of Leavittsburg, Ohio; 21 great-grandchildren; and nine great great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church St., Fairchance, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Monday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with Dr. George M. Hickok officiating.. Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
