Christina L. “Pat” Smouse, 82, of Markleysburg, formerly of Connellsville, died Sunday, November 3, 2002, in the South Fayette Nursing Center, Markleysburg. She was born August 7, 1920, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Charles and Daisy Nicklow Stenger.

Mrs. Smouse was retired from the Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation, where she was employed for many years. She was a resident of Connellsville for most of her life. From 1994 to 2002 she was a resident of Culp’s Personal Care Home, and from 2000 until her passing, she was living at her current residence in Markleysburg. She attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Connellsville.

She is survived by one sister, Charlotte Shoun of Columbia, S.C., and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Harry Truxel; her second husband, Duane Smouse; one sister, Grace Wadford; and one brother, Charles Workman.

Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of services in the funeral home, with the Rev. Philip Ramstad officiating. Interment will follow in the Scottdale Cemetery. See www.brooksfuneralhomes.com.
