Mary C. Long
Mary Catherine Haney Long, 69, of Grindstone, Pa., formerly of Dawson, Pa., died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at home. She was born Dec. 10, 1932, in Little Summit, Pa., the daughter of the late Jesse Haney and the late Mary Newcomer Haney.
She worked in production at Anchor Hocking in Connellsville.
Surviving are her husband, John W. Long Jr.; the following children, John E. Long of Dunbar, Thomas Long and wife, Linda of Leisenring, David Long and wife, Diane of Oklahoma, Diana Long of Grindstone and Deborah Long of Dunbar; a sister, Wilma Crow of Redstone Township; 11 grandchildren, Paula, Marci, Tommy, Jodi, Ronald, Jeremy, Sabrina, John and Brandi Long, Shaun Boyd and Robert Chidestor; ten great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Ben Basinger and wife, Loretta; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a lifelong friend, Ivan Utter; brothers and a sister, Benjamin, Lloyd and Ken Haney and Florence Basinger; and a great-grandson, Tomas Long.
Friends will be received in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville St., Dunbar, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday until 11 a.m., the hour of the service, in the funeral home, with Pastor Mike Petton officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Fayette Home Care (Hospice), Uniontown, Pa.
