Albert (Al) Bargiband, 86, of Perryopolis, Pa., died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at 3:30 p.m., in his home.

He was born May 31, 1916, in Rayland, Ohio, son of the late Alfred and Sylvia Defoe Bargiband.

Albert was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, U.M.W.A., SNPJ Lodge No. 165 of Fayette County, and various sportsmen’s clubs.

He was an avid fisherman and master of many crafts.

Surviving are his wife, Zetta Krall Bargiband; one daughter and two sons, Mrs. Harry E. (Karen) Askey and William Bargiband and wife, Barbara, both of Perryopolis, and Ronald Bargiband and wife, Ann Marie of McMurray, Pa.; and five grandchildren, Cathy Wolinski, Derek Crawford, Brent Crawford, Tracey Christ and Nathan Bargiband.

Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence St., Perryopolis, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m., in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, with the Rev. Fr. John T. Euker as celebrant. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery, West Newton, Pa. A Wake Service will be held on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Perryopolis Senior Citizen Center, PO Box 562, Perryopolis, PA 15473.
