Eugene Cacciola
Eugene Cacciola, 88, of Lemont Furnace, Pa., died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, in Lafayette Manor Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 21, 1914, in Messina, Italy, a son of the late Gaetano and Maria (Ucciardello) Cacciola.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Marie De Venuto and 14 brothers and sisters.
Mr. Cacciola was a member of St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Antonino (Gugliandolo) Cacciola; six children, Thomas Cacciola and wife, Margaret of Long Island, N.Y., Andrea Aquilina and husband, Charles of Long Island, N.Y., Joann Golden and husband, Lanny of Lemont Furnace, Pa., Anthony Cacciola and wife, Diane of Fredricksburg, Va., and Joe Cacciola and wife, Donna of Newark, Del., and son-in-law, Sam De Venuto of Ramsey, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, A Dignity Memorial Provider, at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, 603 North Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, until 9 a.m., when a prayer service will be held, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Therese R.C. Church, with the Rev. Fr. Kenneth Zaccagnini as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery. A Parish Wake Service will be held this evening at 8 p.m.
