SILVER THREADS will meet at noon Monday at the McClellandtown Fire Hall. New members are welcome to join. Members are to bring a covered dish and utensils. ST. HUGH CHURCH, Carmichaels, will host a Festival of Praise with music by “Fiat” at 6 p.m. Sunday.

U.S. STEEL PENSIONEER CLUB will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Holiday Inn.

FRIENDS OF THE BROWNSVILLE LIBRARY will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. All members and new members are urged to attend.

BOBTOWN ROD AND GUN CLUB will hold a shotgun shoot of 12- and 16-gauge at 6 p.m. Saturday. Prizes include turkey, ham, steaks, pork chops, bacon and kielbasa. For more information, call 724-839-7460.

HOPWOOD GARDEN CLUB will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hopwood Free Methodist church. Members are reminded to bring pictures of their garden to share.

MOUNTAINEER AUDUBON will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, first floor Public Safety Center, Spruce and Walnut streets, Morgantown, W.Va. Bill Grafton, wildlife specialist at WVU, will be the speaker. Members will gather for an outing of bird watching at Cheat Lake on Sunday. Members are to meet at 8 a.m. at I-68/Pierpoint Road, Exxon Station, to carpool.

TEAMSTERS LOCAL 491 RETIREES will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Teamsters Auditorium. Members are to note the change in meeting date. Officers will be elected. Plans for the Christmas luncheon on Dec. 11 at Becker’s Shady Side Inn will be made and reservations received.

BROWNFIELD COMMUNITY CENTER, 291 Banning Road, Dawson, will hold a ham dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Costs are $7 for adults and $3 for children under 12. proceeds benefit the community center. For more information, call 724-529-2930.

ALBERT GALLATIN HOME CARE AND HOSPICE will sponsor a presentation on “Facing End-of-Life Questions with Hope and Compassion.’ It will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown. The Rev. Scott Seethaler, a motivational speaker and native of Pittsburgh, will be the guest speaker. The program will celebrate National Hospice Month. SMOCK VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT Ladies Auxiliary will hold a turkey-grocery bingo at 3 p.m. Sunday at the social hall.

STEPPING STONES GRIEF SUPPORT group meeting will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Fayette County Mental Health Center. “How to Deal with Grief During the Holidays, will be the topic of the speaker, Andy Ferguson, bereavement coordinator. CALVARY APOSTOLIC CHURCH, Rolling Hills Estate Road, North Union Township, between Sylvan Heights Cemetery and the PennDOT facilities, will hold its annual old fashioned Christmas bazaar and spaghetti dinner. The bazaar is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dinner starts at noon and will be served until 6 p.m. Cost is $6 for adults; $3 for children, 5 to 12; and free for 4 and younger. Take-out orders will be available.

UNITED CHRISTIAN CHURCH, Malden Crossroads, will hold a public auction on Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. Preview is at 9 a.m. New and old items will be auctioned. A food sale will also be held. Anyone wishing to donate items, call 724-938-2098.
