Elmer O’Brian Breakiron, 73, of Bel Air, Maryland, formerly of Hopwood, Pa., died Saturday, November 2, 2002, in the Lorien-Riverside Nursing Center. He was born November 27, 1928, in Hopwood, Pa., son of the late Clark and Bertha Crago Breakiron. Two brothers, George and Lloyd Breakiron, also preceded him in death.

He was retired after 22 years of service from General Motors. He attended United Methodist Church of Perry Hall, Md.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Breakiron; eight children, Terry Till of Delaware, Timothy Breakiron of Hopwood, Pa., Mindy Sue Yunk of Clearwater, Fla., Melanie Breakiron of Uniontown, Pa., Mark Breakiron of Waynesburg, Pa., Holly Duda of Smock, Pa., Bruce Breakiron of Georgia and Paul Breakiron of New Salem, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Swandtner of Bel Air, Md.; a sister, Jane Wolverton of New Jersey; two brothers, Wendell of Hopwood, Pa., and William of Erie, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Schimunek Funeral Home, 610 West Mac-Phail Road, Bel Air, Md. Viewing will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m., with the funeral service Thursday at 1 p.m.
