“Harper” Albert Elias Jr.”Harper” Albert Elias Jr., 69, of Uniontown, Pa., died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.

He was born Aug. 27, 1933, in Masontown, Pa., a son of the late Albert Elias Sr., and Mary (Mitchell) Elias. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Pearl (Rhodes) Elias; sons, “Billy” Albert Elias III, and Tony Elias; a daughter, Tammy Elias; three brothers, Joseph, James and Eli Elias; and two sisters, Kathryn John and “Jean” Jane Cervone.

Harper was a Russian Orthodox by Faith. He was a good all around man, who was hard working, family oriented, fair, trustworthy, charming and sensitive. He was a good husband, father and grandfather.

He was the heavy equipment mechanic for Solomon and Teslovich for over 25 years, and had Elias Repair Service for 30 years.

Harper was a 40-year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66, and was a social member of VFW Post No. 47, Uniontown, Masontown Faith Gray McArdle American Legion Post No. 423, Italo-American Citizens Club, American Legion Post No. 51, Uniontown, and AMVETS Post No. 103, Hopwood.

Surviving are his second wife, Rose Marie (Benko) Moore Elias; children, James E. Elias of Masontown, Pa., Mary Kathryn Pike and husband, Kevin of McClellandtown, Pa., Terry J. Elias and wife, Tammy of Smock, Pa., David L. Elias of Smock, Pa., and Christina Elias of Acworth, Ga.; grandchildren, Tony Black, Rachel Pike, and Brittany, Tiffany, Tara, Anthony and Alex Elias; and the following brothers and sisters, George Elias and wife, Selma of Masontown, Pa., William Elias and wife, Barbara of Uniontown, Pa., Agnes Frye of Masontown, Pa., Linda Carl of Hammondsport, N.Y., and Blanch McQuade of Falls Church, Va. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, November 9, until 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m., in Saint Mary (Nativity) R.C. Church, with the Rev. Fr. Michah E. Kozoil as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery. Panachida Services will be conducted by the Rev. Fr. Alexander Dandilishvili at 7:30 p.m.
