Margaret L. Brier
Margaret L. Brier, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, Pa., went to her heavenly rest on Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at her residence. She was a life-long member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant and its Rosary Altar Society. She was a graduate of the former Visitation School, Mt. Pleasant. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Union Apparel Inc., the former AMCO of Norvelt and Frick Hospital in the dietary department.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Donnelly of Reston, Va.; a son, Robert J. Brier and wife Sally of Greensburg; a sister, Josephine Haggerty of Scottdale and two grandchildren, Erin Donnelly and Jeffrey Brier.
Friends will be received in the Eugene G. Saloom Funeral Home Inc., 730 W. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, Pa. today from noon to 2 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., where a Blessing Service will be held Monday at 12:30 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. in the Visitation Church.
Martin Honeychuck
Martin Honeychuck, 85, of Mount Pleasant, Pa., died Thursday, November 7, 2002 in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township.
He was a life-long member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, Mount Pleasant and its Holy Name Society. He was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School, Class of 1936.
He was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 446, VFW Post 3368, Knights of Columbus Council 3334, all of Mt. Pleasant, a fourth degree knight of the Bishop O’Connor Assembly 0921 and a member of Amvets Post 103, Hopwood.
Surviving are two sons, Raymond M. Honeychuck and wife Catherine of Latrobe and Joseph M. Honeychuck and wife Maureen of New Freedom; two daughters, Barbara A. Petzel of Mt. Pleasant and Mary Ann Newhouse and husband William of Greensburg; a brother, Joseph M. Honeychuck and wife Ellen of Silver Springs, Md.; four sisters, Mary Patchell of Greensburg, Marge DeFlitch of Mt. Pleasant, Madge Cole and husband Donald of Scottdale and Betty Pravlik and husband Raymond of Deming, N.M.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the Eugene G. Saloom Funeral Home, 730 W. Main St., Mount Pleasant, Pa., today from 2 to 9 p.m. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 2:30 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 3 p.m.in the Visitation R.C. Church, Mt. Pleasant, Pa.
