John Metros
John Metros, age 79, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away at his residence on Saturday, November 9, 2002. He was born March 28, 1923, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of the late James and Mary (Hudock) Metros.
John was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown.
He was a Businessman and self-employed Coal and Excavation Contractor.
He also was very involved in doing work on the grounds at Mount St. Macrina.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Metros, who died in 1983 and a brother, James Metros.
He is survived by his two sons: Michael M. Metros and John R. Metros both of Uniontown; two sisters; Helen Hileman of Uniontown, Pa., and Marge Esposito of Coraopolis, Pa.; five brothers: Peter Metros, Edward Metros and Michael Metros all of Uniontown, George Metros of Ohio, Paul Metros of Butler, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 139 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, November 13, until 9:30 a.m. when prayers will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, North Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, with Rev. Fr. Micah E. Kozoil as Celebrant.
Interment to follow at Mount St. Macrina Cemetery.
Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 2:15 p.m.
