Uniontown Pedestrian struck

City police said Joe David, 53, of 10 Shady Lane, Uniontown, is in stable condition in Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh after he was struck by a car on Gallatin Avenue in front of the Citgo gas station at 6:30 p.m., Saturday.

Witnesses told police he staggered into the path of the driver, Kreszentia Cmos, 76, of 15 Hogsett Lane, Uniontown, who was not injured.

Police said she was driving at a slow speed, but the impact sent David into her windshield and hood. The windshield was shattered and the hood was dented. The accident remains under investigation.

DUI charged

Driving under the influence charges and numerous traffic citations were filed against William Robert Kunkle of Scottdale following an 8 p.m., Saturday accident along Route 819, state police in Uniontown said.

According to police, he was traveling north, failed to negotiate a curve and struck a car parked at house 212 owned by Emma Murphy of Vanderbilt.

Murphy’s son confronted Kunkle, but he fled and struck Murphy, police said. Kunkle abandoned his car about a block away, fled on foot and was apprehended a short time later in Dawson.

State police from Belle Vernon, Dawson and Vanderbilt volunteer fire departments and Fayette EMS also responded.

Gun theft investigated

State police said they are investigating the theft of a .45-caliber Heckler and Koch semi-automatic handgun from the home of Ronald Minerd of 425 Pechin Road, Dunbar, between Oct. 21 and Nov. 7. The gun is black with a plastic handgrip. Police ask anybody with information to call the station at 724-439-7111.

DUI arrest

Quintin Jones of Uledi was arrested for driving under the influence following a 6:30 a.m., Oct. 16 accident in which his car was allegedly struck by another vehicle and became stuck on the railroad tracks on Cinder Road, state police said.

Man reported missing

Christopher Ray Jeske, 33, of 116 Marshall St. was reported missing by his wife after he left his home upset at 9:45 p.m., Saturday, state police said. Jeske is described as white, 6 feet tall, 195 pounds with short blonde hair. Police ask anybody with information to call the station at 724-439-7111.

Truck stolen

State police said a teal green 1993 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck bearing Pennsylvania registration YDN-6478 and owned by Michael Jesse Burnsworth of Mill Run was stolen from the Nicholson Lumber lot between 9 p.m. Nov. 7 and 6 a.m. Nov. 8.

Man cited

Mark Richard Schultz, 35, of Connellsville was cited for harassment Friday after he allegedly shoved Cheryl Lynn Schultz, 37, of Normalville to the ground during an argument at 6:20 p.m. at 531 Buchanan Road, Normalville, state police said.

Four cited

State police said four juveniles were cited for throwing corn at a residence along Old National Pike Sunday at 9:20 p.m.

Vehicles crash

State police said Lester Lee Auer, 48, of Vanderbilt and Kevin L. Knopsnider, 30, of Dunbar were involved in a 7:15 p.m., Friday accident at 117 Vanderbilt-Leisenring Road. Knopsnider and his two passengers were treated at Frick Hospital for minor injuries, police said.

Man arrested

Adam Metts of Smithfield was arrested on a domestic violence charge after he and Pamela Metts of Smithfield allegedly got into an argument Saturday at 12:40 a.m. in Smitty’s bar and they hit each other, state police said.

Man charged

Harassment and criminal mischief charges were filed against Steven McKnight of Uniontown for allegedly shoving Christine Mounayar of Uniontown and breaking a window on Judy Mounayar’s car at 3:30 a.m., Saturday, in the Woodview Terrace parking lot, state police said.

Theft reported

State police said somebody entered a vehicle owned by Keith A. Chapley Jr. of McClellandtown by damaging a window and stole his stereo system and other items at 12:05 a.m., Monday, when it was parked along Brown Street, state police said.

Disorderly conduct

Paul Stephen Hela, 28, of 21 Birch Road, Uniontown, was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after he allegedly mooned customers at Eat ‘N Park Restaurant at 3 a.m., Sunday, state police said.

Fallingwater burglary

State police said someone entered a building adjacent to the main house at Fallingwater along Route 381, which is owned by The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy of Pittsburgh, and stole $1,000 in cash between 4:35 p.m., Saturday and 8 a.m., Sunday.

South Union Twp.

Man charged

Charges of criminal mischief and harassment by communications were filed against Richard James Endsley, 30, of Raymond Avenue, Brownsville, for allegedly making two harassing phone calls to Matthew Shawn Brukett, 27, of Newman Lane, Uniontown, and then going to his home, where he pulled a storm door from the frame and attempted to break a window with a lawn chair, state police said. The alleged incident occurred at 3:25 a.m., Nov. 3.

City police said Blair Keifer reported Sunday at 6:45 a.m. that somebody broke a window on his car during the night when it was parked at his 29 Markle St. home.

Juvenile cited

State police cited a 17-year-old male from Uniontown with disorderly conduct after he allegedly caused a disturbance at the Carmike Cinema in the Uniontown Mall at 8:55 p.m., Saturday.

Women cited

Harassment citations were filed against Eve Yoders of Grindstone and Edith Grow of Uniontown after they pushed and shoved each other during an argument over the death of a family member at 32 Coal Lick Run Road at 12:50 p.m., Saturday, state police said.

Woman cited

Catherine L. Darroch, 25, of 203 Colvin Road, Greensboro, was cited for public drunkenness following a 1:40 a.m., Sunday incident in the Highland House on West Main Street, where she accidentally slapped an officer in the face, city police said.

She tried to slap one of her friends who was trying to remove her from the bar, but missed and hit the officer, police said.

Two cited

Cheryl A. Johnson, 37, and John K. Price, 40, both of 189 N. Gallatin Ave., were cited by city police at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, after they responded three times to their residence for disturbances.

Johnson was cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness and Price for disorderly conduct.

House egged

City police said someone threw eggs on the front window of Melvin Henderson’s house at 279 Coolspring St. at 6:45 p.m. Sunday.

Vandalism reported

City police said Lisa Johnson of 35 Lenox St. reported Saturday at 5 p.m. that somebody spray-painted her garage.

No injuries

State police said Nathan M. Stiles, 20, of Tyler, Texas, lost control of his vehicle while traveling northbound on Interstate 79 Friday at 7:43 p.m.

Stiles’ vehicle traveled across the median and both northbound lanes before coming to rest on the east berm.

Criminal mischief

Trissa Rowe of Bobtown told state police someone broke a window in her residence sometime between 5:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Dog taken

Alice Slusher and Larry Hunt of Greensboro told state police someone kicked in the door to their home sometime between 5:45 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Wednesday and took a dog from the home.

Minor injuries

State police said Vicki Springer, 23, of Dilliner traveled off a legislative route Saturday at 11:34 a.m. and struck a concrete culvert. Springer and her passenger, Tyler Rhome, 2, suffered minor injuries, police said.

Uniontown

Assault reported

City police said Carla Darrell of Uniontown reported that after she fought with another female, a group of six females followed her to the police station at 2:45 a.m., Sunday, and jumped her as she approached the station door.

There were no officers in the station at the time, police said. She said they threw her to the ground and punched her. Police said she had a minor injury.

The incident remains under investigation.
