Carl Lloyd Williams Sr., 76, of East Grafton Road, Fairmont, W.Va., died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, in his residence. He was born May 4, 1926, in Millersville, W.Va., a son of the late Alexander Williams Sr., and the late Ota Gay Carter Williams.

He attended the Hebron Baptist Church at Gladys Creek. He was retired from the Gallet Mills in Uniontown, where he served as a machine operator. He was an avid walker and enjoyed collecting Superhero figures. He was an artist and loved his drawing. He helped raise two of his grandchildren, Carie and Amy, in his home.

Survivors include: his son, Carl Lloyd Jr., and Shelley Williams of East Freedom, Pa.; grandchildren, Carie and Barry Thomas of Urbana, Ohio, Amy and Fred Vincent of Fairmont, Carl Lloyd Williams III of Pennsylvania, Shila Williams of Pennsylvania, and Nina Williams of East Freedom, Pa.; great-grandchildren, Frederick Vincent Jr., Ashlee Vincent, Elaina Thomas, Alex Vincent and Conor Thomas; brothers, Alexander Jr., and Louise Williams of Homestead, Pa., Charles Williams of Fairmont, Donald and Flora Williams of Newark, Del., and David and Carolyn Williams of Morgantown; a sister, Billie May and George Sanders of Fairmont; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betsy Ross Everett Williams; and a sister and brother-in-law, Bertha Belle and Wayne Vandergrift.

Friends and family may call at the FORD FUNERAL HOME, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, today from 3 to 9 p.m., and on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, from noon until 2 p.m. The funeral will be held, in the funeral home, on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at 2 p.m., with Pastors Dan and Shirley Brown officiating. Interment will take place on Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at the Cherry Hill Cemetery in Elkton, Md.
