Martha Berniece Wise, 83, of Dilliner R.D. 1 (Taylortown), Pa., died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, in the Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown, following a brief illness. She was born Feb. 17, 1919, in Creston, W.Va., a daughter of the late Arizona Arthur Schritchfield.

She attended the House of Prayer Church in Taylortown, and was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.

Surviving are her two children, Mrs. Francis (Virginia) Lovis of Taylortown, and Charles W. Wise of New Haven, Conn.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Paul S. Wise died on Feb. 1, 2001. She was also predeceased by a brother, Carl W. Shuck.

Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. James Riggleman officiating. Interment follows in Fairview Cemetery, Taylortown.
