Mildred Pearl Thomas, 85, of Uniontown, Pa., died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, in her residence. She was born April 1, 1917, in Ligonier, Pa., daughter of the late Joseph Crawford and Lottie Kennedy Crawford.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold B. Thomas; a granddaughter, Sherry Thomas; and brothers and sisters.

Mildred was a member of the Tent Presbyterian Church. She was formerly employed at the W. T Grant Company, and was a nurse’s aide at Uniontown Hospital, until her retirement.

Surviving are two children, Sharon Thomas of Mt. Jackson, Va., and David Thomas and wife, Diane of Madison, Ohio; six grandchildren, Earl Swaney III, Michael Swaney, Ronalee Aldridge, Tammy Sigl, David Thomas Jr., and Ronald Thomas; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Olive Durr of Cumberland, Md.

The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church St., Fairchance, Pa., on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, from 10 to 11 a.m. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Kathy Griffith officiating. Private family interment will follow the services.
