Nick Capossere
Nick Capossere, 89, of Uniontown, Pa., died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, in Uniontown Hospital. He was born July 15, 1913, in York Run, Pa., son of the late Nicola and Filomena Picone Capossere.
Nick was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army, and a member of VFW Post 47, and George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103. He was a store manager of numerous state liquor stores throughout Pennsylvania, and had worked in the Uniontown store for over 35 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Philomina Alexander Capossere on March 25, 1996; a brother, William Capossere; and two sisters, Jennie Corrado and Mollie Capossere.
He is survived by his daughter, Christina Capossere-Unis of Pittsburgh; and a granddaughter, Nicole Alexandra Unis, who was the apple of his eye.
Friends will be received in the DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, Uniontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday until 9 a.m., at which time a Blessing Service will be held, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Therese de Lisieux R.C. Church, with the Rev. Fr. Kenneth Zaccagnini V.F., as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by AMVETS Post 103.
