Mildred Pindro Kromer

Mildred Marie (Pindro) Kromer, 80, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2002, at 11:59 p.m. in Life Care Hospital, Wilkensburg, Pa. She was born January 4, 1922, on the family farm in Star Junction, Pa. She lived in the Perryopolis area for most of her young life. She also lived in Monarch and also lived the latter part of her life in Uniontown.

During World War II, Mrs. Kromer helped the cause while working at a Michigan Chrysler Plant wiring the Super Fortress in the B-52 Bombers.

She was married to Michael Kromer of Perryopolis, a Veteran of World War II, who was awarded the Purple Heart.

The pride and joy of her life were her six Grandchildren and her four Great-Grandchildren! She loved crossword puzzles, sweets, Bingo, “Jeopardy”, and her haluski.

She was an avid reader and did her civic duty by writing many “Letters to the Editor” about government and politics in the 1970’s.

Preceding her in death were her father, Steve Pindro, an immigrant from Czechoslovakia, and her mother, Mary (Bindus) Pindro, along with her sisters, Mary, Annie, Dorothy, Pauline and Betty, and brothers, Steve and Albert Pindro.

Surviving are her sisters, Helen Pindro, Matilda Kallock, Margaret Zdehovan, and one brother, Edward Pindro.

She has two children: a daughter, Michelle Rene (Kromer) Cavanagh of Uniontown, Pa., and a son, Michael Kromer of Warren, Ohio; and her six grandchildren, in order of birth, Fayette County Commissioner Sean M. Cavanagh, Brian C. Cavanagh, Tammy Kromer, Michael J. Cavanagh, Michael Kromer and Jeffery Kromer.

She lived to see her four great-grandchildren, Carmen M. Cavanagh, Colleen M. Cavanagh, Kaitlyn E. Kromer and Michael J. Cavanagh II.

She was sister, wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma and friend to many. She will be loved, missed and remembered by her family eternally!

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. ST SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, November 19, until 11:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Jefferson Street, at Noon with Rev. Fr. William J. Kiel as Celebrant.

Entombment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery Chapel of Memories Mausoleum.

A Parish Wake Service will be held this evening at 8:30 p.m.

Visitation was also held Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
